John Dryburgh

John, a printer by trade, has always enjoyed painting. Now retired, he is free to spend more time as an artist. A keen ornithologist, John paints accurate and sensitive bird studies informed by careful drawing and study from life.

More recently, John has been experimenting with landscape. From realistic drawing, he takes the image into a looser style, concentrating on colour and mood - colour is heightened and shape simplified to create strong structural images that evoke the landscape.

A member of Chilcompton Arts Club, John regularly exhibits his work locally.
