Peter
Kirkland
Although
Peter enjoys modern abstract art produced by other artists,
his own work is mainly traditional in style. He started
his working life in an engineering drawing office, and
in mid-career changed to architectural design.
Always interested in painting as well as drawing, he joined
a number of courses at Radstock College, culminating in
an A Level award in 1992.
Since
retiring from business, he has developed his work considerably
in various media. He now paints mainly in acrylics, and
his careful observation of detail results in finely produced
paintings of landscape, buildings and still life.
In
1998 he inaugurated the Whisty Art Group in Radstock,
and has been a member of the OBA since its inception.
Having,
for the moment at least, completed his set of acrylic
paintings of Radstock, he has returned to still life painting.
Three of these are illustrated here as examples and are
available for sale.
High
quality mounted giclee prints of his Radstock works are
still available, now at £20 each plus postage and
packing. Also, the Radstock Museum carries a stock of
postcards.
